The coronavirus (COVID-19) health emergency has turned our lives upside down. Nearly everyone is living with stress. Some may have anxiety or depression or find themselves using drugs or alcohol. Children are vulnerable, too.
Know this: There’s help available for you and family members. In many cases, it’s a call away.
Help with stress, anxiety, depression
Talk to a counselor
ConnectiCare members can have telehealth visits with mental health counselors. And members won’t have to pay any cost share for those services through June 30, 2020. No deductibles, copayments, or coinsurance.* Counselors must be in the member’s ConnectiCare plan network for the visit to be free.
To find a mental health counselor: Sign in to liveandworkwell.com to search for one. In some cases, you can sign up for a virtual visit on the website.
Use the Sanvello app
Optum’s Sanvello app is designed to help people manage symptoms of anxiety, stress, or depression. It includes coping tools, guided meditations, peer support, and more. Members of employer plans and plans for people under age 65 are eligible. You can download and use the premium version at no charge for one year.
Visit the Google Play or iTunes store to download Sanvello. Register with your ConnectiCare member identification (ID) number.
Call a support line
You can call the Optum support line at 1-866-342-6892. There is no charge any time. The line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
When home isn’t safe
Quarantine and stay-at-home orders may lead to tense situations at home. No one should have to suffer verbal, emotional, or physical abuse. If you need help, please:
- Call the state’s domestic violence hotline at 1-888-774-2900 (English) or 1-844-831-9200 (Spanish).
- Or, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
- Visit 211ct.org for more support resources for victims of domestic violence and partner abuse.
Keep up with recovery
Check in with yourself regularly, especially if you are on a path to recovery. While you can’t go out to meetings, virtual support is available:
- In the Rooms – Virtual meetings for those recovering from addiction and related issues.
- We Connect – Free online recovery support meetings more than seven times a day.
- Alcoholics Anonymous groups: Find them at aa-intergroup.org/directory.php, onlinegroupaa.org, or aaonlinemeeting.net.
- Narcotics Anonymous meetings: Find them at virtual-na.org or na.org/meetingsearch (choose “Web” as country).
- Join the SMART Recovery Online Community for people recovering from addictive behaviors.
- Download a mobile app to help with alcohol addiction recovery.
